An example menu for a Light Diet

Breakfast

Apple juice, Maize porridge, milk and sugar.
Brown bread, margarine and smooth apricot jam.
Rooibos tea / iced tea.

Banana, Malta Bella porridge, milk and sugar.
Brown bread, margarine and fish paste.
Rooibos tea / iced tea.

Papaya and Weetabix, milk and sugar.
Brown bread, margarine and smooth peanut butter.
Rooibos tea / iced tea.

Mango juice and Corn Flakes, milk and sugar.
Brown bread, margarine and scrambled eggs.
Rooibos tea / iced tea.

Litchi juice, Rice Crispies, milk and sugar.
Brown bread, margarine and edam cheese.
Rooibos tea / iced tea.

Grape juice, Oats porridge, milk and sugar.
Brown bread, margarine and smooth cottage cheese.
Rooibos tea / iced tea.

Mid-morning snack

Cream crackers and marmite or
Marie biscuits or
White rusks and
Rooibos tea / iced tea.

Lunch

Brown bread, margarine, mayonnaise light and tuna.
Carrot juice.

Brown bread, margarine and chicken noodle soup.
Grape juice.

Brown bread, margarine and cream of mushroom soup.
Pear juice.

Brown bread, margarine, smooth jam and grated cheese.
Tomato juice.

Brown bread, margarine and drained pilchards.
Mango juice.

Brown bread, margarine, boiled egg and light mayonnaise.
Apple juice.

Mid afternoon snack
Smooth yogurt.

Supper

Pancakes, minced meat, gem squash and beetroot.
Ice cream (eat slowly).

Haddock and asparagus, low fat cheese sauce and baby marrows.
Bread and butter pudding (no raisins).

Chicken a la king, pasta and pumpkin baby peas.
Jelly and custard.

Cottage pie, baby marrow and sweet carrots.
Instant desert.

Macaroni and cheese (egg based), gem squash and beetroot.
Sago pudding.

Boiled potato, tuna, white sauce, baked pumpkin and baby peas.
Ideal milk and jelly (whipped).

Snack

Glass of milk with honey or
Milk / smooth yogurt.
